Mr. Raymond Earl “Ray” Ritchie, Jr., 75, of Cincinnati, Ohio, died Tuesday, January 25, 2022. He was born in Pulaski County, Kentucky on June 17, 1946, the son of Raymond Earl Ritchie, Sr. & Loretta (New) Ritchie. He was raised in the Baptist faith, an Army veteran who served in the United States in the Vietnam War, graduated from Cumberland High School, Cumberland, Harlan County, Kentucky Class of 1964, graduated his bachelor’s degree from the University of Cincinnati, retired from Proctor & Gamble, and was an independent businessman who owned Unique Campus Rentals and other real estate. He loved Corvettes, boating, water sports and skiing. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Robert Lee & Bertha (Burkhart) Ritchie, his maternal grandparents, Dellas Ewell & Sarah Ethel (Nevels) New.
He is survived by his wife, Joan Ruth (Dickmeyer) Ritchie, daughter, Rachel Grace (& KC) Kless, sister, Linda Joyce Ritchie of Science Hill, half-sister, Carolyn Sue (Ritchie) Mullins of Hazard, grandchildren , Samuel Patrick Kless and Miranda Judith Kless.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. EST on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at the historic Calvary Baptist Church Chapel, 3711 Tibbatts St., Covington, Kentucky 41015. There will also be a funeral service on Sunday, January 1. . February 30, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. EST at Science Hill Cemetery in Science Hill, Kentucky, where he will be interred.
