BOSTON—Ameek Ashok Ponda, director of the tax department of Sullivan & Worcester, is nationally recognized for his work in real estate investment trust (REIT) conversions and cross-border REIT issues.
He focuses his practice in structuring corporate mergers and acquisitions, designing REIT transactions and financial instruments and working on cross-border financings and acquisitions, is one of the contributors to the recently published Real Estate Investment Lexology Trusts, or REITS.
Mr. Ponda has represented public and private REITs in a range of real estate sectors including: corporate storage facilities, cold storage facilities, communications towers, data centers, dark and light optic fiber; digital billboards, distributed antenna systems, foreign real estate, hotels and travel centers, industrial properties, mortgage REITs, multi-family residences, office buildings, retail, retirement homes, solar, wind and electrical infrastructure , forest land, transmission and distribution lines, and vineyards, greenhouses and other agricultural properties.
