FB&T Announces New Vice President of Consumer Lending and Private Banking

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Greg Garland, President and Chief Executive Officer of FirstBank and Trust (FB&T), announced the recent hire of Shawn Knox as Executive Vice President of Consumer Lending and Private Banking .

Knox will operate out of the central location at 9816 Slide Road and oversee bankwide consumer lending operations and private banking services.

“Shawn brings a proven track record of success to the bank,” Garland said. “With his financial acumen and vast experience in consumer lending, I know he will be invaluable to the FBT team.”

Knox began his career in banking in 1999, just a few years after earning his Bachelor of Science degree in business and accounting from Fayetteville State University in North Carolina. He has held several positions throughout his career including Branch Manager, Sales Development and Retail Manager, working primarily in major Texas metropolitan areas including Houston and Dallas. Since 2017, Knox has lived and worked in Lubbock, continuing his banking career as a consumer loans manager at another local financial institution.

As an active member of the Lubbock community, Knox is no stranger to volunteerism. Currently, he is a board member of Habitat for Humanity and the 100 Black Men of West Texas. Additionally, he remains involved with the Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity and Lubbock Meals on Wheels.

Knox and his wife Amanda have been married for 19 years and have two children, Madison and Aiden.
